Program Objectives
Utilizing camping/wilderness survival, yoga, mindful outdoor experiences, and wellness initiatives participants will:

Explore the outdoors and identify ways nature can benefit self-care

Increase knowledge related to camping, wilderness survival, and social/emotional lesson topics

Raise awareness for others about the benefits of nature-based stress reduction
Allowing nature to nurture us through relationship with the outdoors:

Understanding our basic needs –camping/wilderness with embedded social/emotional lessons

Outdoor activities (hiking, experiential education, outdoor explore)

2-4 Day Mini-Camps (3-6 hours, no overnights)
Curriculum Content
· Small Tents
· Large Tents
· 6 knots to know, braiding, paracord breakdown
· Car and group camping gear and planning
· Camp cooking and Menu creation
· Maps and Navigation Overview (A1)
· Picking a trail and orienteering (A2)
· Day hiking and small excursions (finding local routes)
· Backpacking (small group solo backcountry gear) (B1)
· Backcountry Food and Water (B2)
· Wilderness survival scenario (short term 1-4 days)
· Ice survival (intro and self recovery)
· Ice and Winter Survival (car through ice and winter car problem)
· Shelter from basic items
· Long term Survival (5+days)
· Water and food safety (building a water filter)
· Wilderness First Aid basics and ankle wrap
· Shinrin Yoku/Mindful Outdoor Engagement (creative and sensory)
· School-Wide Wellness Awareness Initatives
